The message, uncovered on Wednesday, was handwritten, but police would not comment on its content only to say the incident was under investigation.
"We are investigating the incident," said Lt. John Slusarz. "There was no imminent threat to the school."
He did not comment if any arrest had been made, but did say police took all necessary actions.
Parents were notified by school officials through email saying students had located a written threat that included a statement about “bringing a weapon into a school in the future.”
